About

FCPG is an accredited behavioral intervention provider in BC. Their existing website was outdated, text-heavy, and not aligned with their brand values.

I led a UX/UI redesign project to modernize the site.

01. Current Site Review

Why are we doing this?

  • Parents, who often came to the site stressed or in need of quick answers, couldn’t quickly find services or resources.

  • New users were likely dropping off instead of reaching out, because the site didn’t guide them toward the next step.

Navigation Overhaul

Unclear where to click for things like booking a consultation or learning about programs

Poor readability

Combining motion, text and image backgrounds

The Services section currently blends into the blog section, making it less noticeable.

FCPG Current Site

Call-to-action button does not look like a button, which likely meant families weren’t converting as often

No streamlined intake process (manual back-and-forth emails)

02. Stakeholder Alignment

Stakeholder Discovery

I developed and distributed a targeted questionnaire to gather insights on business goals, service priorities, user pain points, and desired site functionality.

Mood Board

Visual Direction

I assembled a mood board to explore tone and aesthetic preferences, and reviewed the official branding deck to ensure visual consistency across typography, colors, and messaging.

03. Planning & Wireframing

Key Insights for Wireframing

Based on the stakeholder discovery sessions and site audit, three priorities emerged for the redesign

  • Simplify navigation and restructure content to make the site easier to use and reduce confusion.

  • Highlight services, team expertise, and organizational impact to strengthen trust and credibility with parents and caregivers.

  • Streamline intake booking by integrating a quick scheduling option (e.g., Calendly) so families can take action without friction.

04. Final Products

Streamlined Navigation:

Grouped "Training" + "Resources"

Grouped "Blog" + "Newsletter"

Clearer Call-to-Action:

Prioritize booking consultation feature, linked it with Calendly to streamline booking.

Added Email Sign-Up Prompt:

Included a newsletter/consumer guide sign-up to support lead generation and future marketing efforts.

FCPG New Site

Enhanced Slideshow:

Reduce cognitive load and draw focus to the primary message.

Separated Services from Blog:

Core service offerings stand out more.

Added "Meet the Team" Section:

Increase credibility and build trust with parents.

Added Intake Question Form

Allow users to submit questions without committing to a consultation right away.

05. Reflections

Balancing stakeholder preferences with best UX design practices.

The client preferred to retain their homepage slideshow and extensive details on each section due to a desire to showcase multiple messages visually.

I adapted by minimizing on-slide text and emphasizing key messaging outside the slider to avoid cognitive overload. To balance this, I focused on using scannable summaries, collapsible content blocks, and reorganized layout flow to present dense information without overwhelming the visitor.

UX Design is More Than Visuals

This project taught me that being a UX designer goes far beyond designing clean interfaces. To create meaningful solutions, I needed to understand the organization's business objectives, target audience, and its brand positioning.
